Labor Day marks the start of the 3rd Tour of Missouri. The first stage, a circuit race, will commence at 7th and Market Streets in downtown St. Louis at 2:30 PM. The riders are expected to finish the 10 lap/75 mile course at around 5:30 PM. Participating will be last year’s winner Christian Vande Velde of the Garmin-Slipstream team, Levi Leipheimer of winning Tour de France team Astana, as well as Mark Cavendish and current US Champion George Hincapie from the Columbia team. A total of 118 riders in 15 teams will be competing.
The course will take the riders South on Broadway, all the way down to Arsenal, where they will come back North to Soulard, via Russel and Mississippi to Lafayette Square, then via Chouteau and Tucker back to Market.
The Tour of Missouri will run through Sunday, September 13 when it concludes in Kansas City.
