Goodbye Metro Salon, Welcome Studio 16!
Studio 16 on Washington Avenue
When Amanda Boatman had the chance to take over Metro Salon on Washington Venue & 16th Street, about two months ago, she didn’t have to think long about it. She always wanted to own her own hair salon. Amanda grew up in Belleville, Illinois. Her ambitions took her to Tempe, Arizona where she received her license and worked at the second largest hair salon in Arizona. When she moved back to Illinois, she started working for Metro Salon on Washington Avenue. After seven months she bought the salon and renamed it Studio 16, a reference to the address on Washington & 16th Street.

“After almost eight weeks in, it has been a difficult, yet fun challenge to take on”, Amanda told us: ” We are continually improving our salon. Also, our team of four stylists continue to take advanced classes and learn about the latest techniques.”
