Holiday Inn Downtown Renovates

The Holiday Inn Convention Center has been a downtown staple for decades and the hotel was starting to show its age. A multi-million dollar renovation of the interior was started mid-2009 and finished earlier this year. Now, work has begun on a transformation of the exterior of this 295-room hotel. HOK sets up Shop at 6th Street

HOK architects has opened a model shop in the Millennium building at 312 N 6th Street. The shop is located next door to Starbucks and opposite the street from the East entrance of Macy’s. Laurel & Skybridge Update

Renovation of the Laurel building into a 212-room Embassy Suites Hotel and 205 residential apartments has commenced. The skybridge, connecting the former Dillard’s with the St. Louis Centre (also under redevelopment, see earlier post) will be completely gone by the end of June, according to the developer. The $ 150 million project should be completed by the end of 2011. [...]

7th Street Garage Under Construction

Work has begun on the conversion of the former St. Louis Centre mall into a parking garage with retail on the ground floor, and the possible addition of a movie theater on the second and third floors.
