Renovation of the Laurel building into a 212-room Embassy Suites Hotel and 205 residential apartments has commenced. The skybridge, connecting the former Dillard’s with the St. Louis Centre (also under redevelopment, see earlier post) will be completely gone by the end of June, according to the developer.

The $ 150 million project should be completed by the end of 2011. The adjacent St. Louis Centre conversion into the 7th Street garage, retail and tentatively a movie theater will be finished later this year. This should become a prime location, next to the convention center, Edward Jones Dome and literally on top of a MetroLink station.
