Last week we had an opportunity to check out Blondie’s, Kathleen McGowan’s new venture on 13th and Washington. The space that formerly housed Masulla’s Fashion has undergone a true transformation. The feel is one of coziness and at the same time the space is light and open.

Pastries Galore

The breakfast menu consists of Popovers, Souffles and Paninis and a variety of specialty coffees is available. For lunch you can choose from a multitude of salads, sandwiches, cheese plates or charcuterie. Blondies is still working on the dinner menu but several desserts are offered, as well as Martinis, Cocktails, Aperitifs, Dessert Drinks and Digestifs. The Martinis sport names like Lana Turner, Jean Harlow, Jayne Mansfield and of course Marilyn Monroe.

Blondie’s is a welcome addition to the downtown landscape. Not only does it complement the corner of 13th & Washington, where it adds to liveliness of Lucas Park Grille, Rosalita’s and Jive & Wail, it offers something new. Now you can have breakfast (Blondie’s opens at 6:30 on weekdays, 8 on the weekends) or simply stay put with a cappuccino while working on your notebook using the available free wifi. At night, Blondie’s turns into a dimly-lit, cozy lounge with a wide assortment of libations on offer. To finish with a Debbie Harry song we’d like to say to Kathleen: “Call me” (anytime).

Hours of Operation

Monday thru Friday Open for breakfast at 6:30am.
Lunch starts at 11am. Lunch menu is available till close.
Small plates selection added at 4PM. Dinner entree specials coming soon.

Saturday and Sunday Breakfast 8am – 2pm. Lunch 11am – 4pm. Look for an expanded breakfast menu on the weekends.

Sundays 8am – 4pm

Monday through Wednesday open until 10:30pm. kitchen closes at 10pm.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday open until 1:30am. kitchen closes at midnight.
