The new Walgreens across the street from The Georgian Square Building on Lafayette is getting closer to opening its doors. The parking lot will be South and East of the building, accessable via a 14th Street entrance. Koman Properties has the completion date listed as fall 2009. Share

City Grocers has long been downtown’s staple for groceries. With the opening of Schnucks Culinaria across the street, they decided to re-invent themselves as City Gourmet. The new store features City-Dining-To-Go, Burrito City, focusing on Tex-Mex foods and Bakery City Dragon, with stir-fry dishes. There is espresso coffee and a larger beer and wine selection. August 11, 2009 was the day. The opening celebration of downtown’s first grocery store in almost 25 years. It’s called Culinaria, a Schnucks market and it’s located at 9th and Olive Streets. Culinaria,  Schnucks’ new concept store, opened its doors on August 11. Located at the Old Post Office in the 9th street garage, the store is open 7 days a week between 6 am and 10 pm. Parking for Culinaria patrons will be one hour free between 9 am and 5 pm and two hours free outside these hours.
